FairFX Euro & US Dollar Travel money CardsThe FairFX US dollar and Euro travel money card was launched in late 2007, consistently offering market-leading currency card exchange rates. In to addition not charging any point-of-sale fees and having low ATM fees (€1.50 or $2.00), another great reason to order a FairFX card is that it doesn't charge an additional foreign exchange spread for transactions in a currency other than your card denominated currency. Competitors CaxtonFX and The Post Office both charge 2.75% and 3% respectively. The FairFX currency card is free through the 'Apply Now' link below (subject to a minimum load of €10 or $20). |

|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
CaxtonFX Euro & US Dollar Travel money CardsCaxtonFX is another competitive travel money card. Although Caxton claim to offer 0% commission on their foreign currency, in reality that doesn't mean much - most currency providers don't charge commission, they simply build their profit into the margin on the foreign exchange rate. However, CaxtonFX currency card rates are still good - on average they're just slightly worse than FairFX. Although Caxton charges an additional foreign exchange spread of 2.75% for transactions in a currency other than your card currency, there is no charge for same currency point-of-sale transactions. |
Our no.3 currency card choice - the ICE travellers cashcard |

Post Office Euro & US Dollar Travel money CardsThe ICE launched their travel money card and it is another card that offers reasonable rates and fees. Exchange rates offered by the Post Office are commonly very similar to rates available with the Caxton card - and like Caxton our only gripe with them is the additional foreign exchange spread of 3% for transactions in a currency other than your card currency and the 0% commission marketing strategy. All-in-all though ICE is a welcome addition to the currency card marketplace, and consistently offer much better rates than traditional travel money providers like Travelex and the Post Office. |
